Xander is originally from Virginia but spent much of his life in Georgia before moving to Knoxville, TN just this past November. He was a 2019 Jim Collins Foundation Grant Recipient. He volunteered with Alphabet Soup Atlanta during his time there, doing various trans-related fundraisers and events. After volunteering with Alphabet Soup Atlanta for many years he sought that same type of organization in Knoxville. Through his partner, Devin he heard about the work that Jack Knoxville was doing with the Trans Empowerment Project and knew that he wanted to be involved. He has been the client services liaison since he began his volunteer service with the project connecting trans people all over the U.S. with resources such as binders, gaffing materials, clothes, food, and healthcare.
Xander has an Associate of Applied Sciences in health information technology, a Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration, and a Master of Business Administration. He currently works as an accounts-receivable insurance collections specialist for Ortho Tennessee. Xander is completing his doctoral degree in child and adolescent developmental psychology. With his PhD, he wishes to continue research that will help LGBTQIA+ youth and their families. He would also like to assist school systems in rewriting protocols and sensitivity training to make the world a better place for LGBTQIA+ youth. He is passionate about helping the trans community in any way he can!
His term on the Board expires June 13, 2023.
