The Jim Collins Foundation is pleased to announce that more than $12,000 was raised from a New York City screening of Just Gender. The educational documentary was produced and directed by George Zuber, narrated by Tony and Emmy award-winning actor Bebe Neuwirth, and includes interviews with many transgender leaders and community members, including JCF Vice President Dru Levasseur.
George Zuber is an ally who took it upon himself to find out more about the trans community, made an educational documentary, and showed the film around the country to benefit different trans organizations. Zuber selected the Jim Collins Foundation as the beneficiary for the NYC premiere because of his strong belief in our mission to provide financial assistance to transgender people for gender-confirming surgeries as part of their healthy transitions.
After the screening, a panel discussion was held to discuss the film and JCF’s work, with George Zuber, JCF Co-Founders Tony Ferraiolo and Dru Levasseur, and JCF Grant Recipient Séverine Pierre. Séverine spoke powerfully about the impact JCF’s grant had on her life, and how her increased confidence has empowered her to pursue her professional and personal goals.
The Jim Collins Foundation is grateful to George Zuber and to the generosity of those who attended the Just Gender screening. The funds raised will change people’s lives.
