Bamby Salcedo

Bamby Salcedo Bamby Salcedo is the HIV Prevention Services Project Coordinator with Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Previous to her current position Bamby was the Program Manager for the Transgeneros Unidas with Bienestar Human Services in Southern California. Bamby is also the founder and President of The Trans-Latin@ Coalition. Ms Salcedo is a very proud Latina transgender woman who is recognized nationwide; she has served in various planning groups and organizations such as the CHPG (California HIV Planning Group) in which she chaired the transgender-working group and as the former Co-Chair for the Transgender Task Force with the Prevention Planning Committee of Los Angeles County and The Center of Excellence for Transgender HIV prevention with UCSF. She currently is she is a member of the Transgender Service Provider Network, which is a coalition of different trans specific service provider agencies in Los Angeles. Bamby is also the publisher for XQsi Magazine which an LGBTQ Latin@ publication on line, she is also a member with the National Latino AIDS Action Network (NLAAN) and board member for the National Latino LGBT Civil Rights Organization Unid@s.
Bamby is the creator of the very first trans youth calendar call Angels of Change, in which Bamby has been able to give trans youth a positive image.Bamby has also been recognized for her great work in different occasions, in 2006 she was recognized with the Sol award from the National Latino AIDS Awareness Day of Los Angeles, in 2009 she was recognized with the Icon award from The TransUnity Pride of Los Angeles and in 2010 she was recognized by The Christopher Street West, Producers of L A Pride with the Connie Norman Leadership Award for her leadership and work with transgender communities, and in 2011 she was awarded the Sheila J Kuehl Trailblazer Award from the Stone Wall Democratic Club for her work in the community.
